On November 9, Zhongtong fuel cell buses start operation in Jining, Shandong provinces. Thus, Jining becomes the fourth city in Shandong province after Jinan, Weifang and Liaoning to have hydrogen powered buses in operation.

Jining is able to produce 210,000 tons of hydrogen each year, making the city an ideal place for fuel cell vehicles. In addition, the city has been given selected as a pilot zone to develop hydrogen industry and related industries by Shandong provincial government. Currently, it is home to many enterprises devoted to producing hydrogen.

To promote the sound and sustainable development of the hydrogen industry, Jining municipal government has launched a series of favorable policies.

Zhongtong officially started developing fuel cell buses in 2014. Currently, it boasts a wide spectrum of fuel cell buses and a host of advanced technologies. By working closely with some well-renowned research institutions and closely monitoring customers’ growing needs, it has been playing a leading role in China’s fuel cell vehicle industry.
