Cummins Euro VI Engines Reach 2,000 Units in Europe

27 November 2018

Recently, Cummins announced that the number of hybrid city buses equipped with Cummins Euro VI engines reached 2,000 units. These vehicles, working smoothly across Europe, have been making enormous contributions to cutting carbon footprint and improving air quality in European countries.

Especially designed for hybrid city buses, Cummins B4.5 and B6.7 engines are able to help buses cut fuel consumption by over 12%.

In UK, Cummins engines are chiefly mounted on Enviro400H developed by Alexander Dennis and Wrightbus by New Routemaster. Both are double-deckers mounted with Cummins B4.5-H engine. Recently, a hybrid articulated city bus rolled out by Van Hool is equipped with Cummins B6.7-H engine.

In EU countries, buses branded with VDL, Solaris, Vectia and Irizar have all introduced Cummins 4.5 and 6.7 engines.

According to varied loading capacity requirements, Cummins engines automatically adjust their power and torque outputs, helping vehicles realize their best performances. In addition, their intelligent control systems will indicate the best recharging time for batteries. So far, Cummins Darlington Tech Center has already earned a solid reputation in Europe.(www.chinabuses.org)
