01 October 2015
www.chinabuses.org: On Sept. 29, a grand ceremony was held at Xiamen Harbor to celebrate the shipping of 80 units King Long buses to Bolivia. Fabian Siñani, president of the parliament of La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, led his delegation to Xiamen to receive the golden key from Lian Xiaoqiang, president of King Long Motor Group. Li Dongliang, vice mayor of Xiamen also met the distinguished guests from South America and expressed his warm welcome to them on behalf of the city.
As early as 2008, King Long started cooperation with Bolivia. In 2013, 61 units King Long buses made their way to Bolivia, making significant contributions to the local public transport. So far, over 4,500 units King Long buses have been put into operation across Bolivia.
As this year marks the 30th anniversary of China-Bolivia relations, the shipping of King Long buses to Bolivia once again demonstrates the deepening ties between the two nations. Besides, the export of King Long buses to Bolivia represents a new breakthrough for the bus maker's expansion in South American market.
Just the same type of buses delivered to Bolivia in 2013, this time the buses are also measuring 11.5 meters in length. However, based on its predecessors, the bus has also made a number of improvements. For example, it has strengthened the rigidity of the bus chassis. Moreover, the performance and stability of the vehicle have been significantly improved thanks to the adjustment of its approach angle and departure angle. Furthermore, the painting process has seen some new progress. Coated with the totem of Bolivia, the snake body with a puma head, the bus is named PUMA KATARI and symbolizes flexibility, agility and bravery.
King Long's scrupulous attention to details has left a deep impression on all vehicle experts from Bolivia. Along with these new batch of buses, a team of King Long's after-sale engineers will also travel to Bolivia to provide professional services to the local bus operators.
As buses are operating around the clock, they are required to be highly reliable. This also sets a stringent test for all after-sale engineers. After their arrival in the country, these engineers will provide 15-days training services for over 100 drivers from local bus operators.
Currently, at any corner of the streets in La Paz, it is not uncommon to see a King Long bus passing by in a matter of just three minutes. In the past few months, over 200 King Long buses on average had all made their way to South American nations every month. In addition, King Long has become the winner for two consecutive times in La Paz city government's public transport projects. Despite the fact that the majority of bus imports in Bolivia are second-hand vehicles, King Long has become the top brand among all new bus imports.
In recent years, King Long has made impressive achievements in a number of countries in South America, such as Peru, Chile, Columbia and Bolivia. Its bus exports to these countries have been on a steady rise in the last few years. To date, over 7,000 King Long buses have been working smoothly across South America. In face of intense international competition and the lackluster global market, King Long still managed to realize a 42.22% growth in its overseas sales in the first seven months of this year through its effective global marketing strategies.
