Bosch Still in Rapid Development in China

Nowadays, the financial turmoil deeply affects automotive industry, but Bosch Group of Germany is continuing on its path to growth in China, with 2008 sales in the country expected to reach some 2.3 billion euros ($3.2 billion), a sharp 30 percent increase from the previous year. It is the fourth consecutive year of high growth. In 2008, Bosch Group's global sales will total about 47 billion euros ($65.6 billion).
China will remain a major driver of Bosch growth in Asia and its resource-saving and energy-efficient innovations are in strong demand as the country targets sustainable growth. Bosch has established a solid basis to further increase its presence in China. By the beginning of 2009, the number of Bosch associates in the country will reach about 23,000, greater than in any other country outside Germany.
Its research and development (R&D) activities in China embrace all its business sectors. The company already invested some 1 billion euros ($1.4 billion) in China in the years up to 2007, with another 850 million euros ($1.18 billion) to be added between 2008 and 2010.
