Foton AUV Electric Buses Start Operation in Malta

Recently, six units 12-meter Foton electric buses officially started operation in Gozo Island, the second largest island in Malta. As the first batch of Foton electric buses working in Malta, these vehicles ushers a brand new era of public transportation for the country in southern Europe.
According to Foton, the six units electric buses were introduced to Gozo Island under the framework of EU’s Horizon 2020, which was launched in January, 2014 to promote greener lifestyle among Europeans. As one of the members of EU, Malta has been actively involved in building a greener public transport network.
Foton C12 electric bus has a reinforced body structure and works smoothly in extremely harsh working conditions. Foton’s newly developed heat management technology helps the vehicle effectively control the heat of the power batteries. Its advanced fire extinguishing system fully ensures the safe operation of power batteries. In addition, its environmentally friendly materials can effectively insulate the noise and create a quieter traveling environment for passengers.
With a population of 520,000, Malta is known as the Garden of Europe. With lush greenery and beautiful sceneries, Gozo Island is called the Garden of Malta.
