Auto Makers Seize "Chinese Opportunity"
10 March 2009
In 2009, China's auto market has gradually recovered and is experiencing relatively rapid growth, thanks to both the adjustment and stimulus plan for the automobile industry and a series of policies boosting domestic demand. Meanwhile, auto markets from the US, Japan and major developed countries in Europe have remained sluggish amid the global financial crisis this year.
In January, new vehicle sales volume in China exceeded that of the US for the first time. More and more multinational automobile giants have discovered opportunity and regained confidence in China's auto market.
Regarding the future of the auto market in China, experts pointed out that the fundamentals of the Chinese economy are sound, and that the Chinese government is taking proactive measures to tackle the situation. Therefore, it is predicted that the entire market will recover within a very short period of time, and will maintain an upward trend. Even in the short term, the market conditions in 2009 look pretty good.
