The World’s Largest Base for Lithium Batteries in Fujian Province

www.chinabuses.org: HongKong New Energy invested initially $320 million to build a factory in Ningde, Fujian province. The factory is called Ningde Amperex Technology Limited. The overall project cost is expected to touch $1 billion. Once operational, the facility will have an annual capacity of 5 billion units or $3.1 billion, positioning Fujian as the world’s largest base for lithium batteries.

On June 7th 2012, five production lines were operating for producing the lithium batteries in the first workshop of NNingde Amperex Technology Limited. The total area of this company covers nealy 50,000 square meters.
