www.chinabuses.org: When Beijing eventually elected to be the twenty-fourth Winter Olympic Games host city, almost all automotive enterprises have started marketing on the topic. However, the real winner is most likely to be new energy vehicle enterprise.
According to Zhao Jingguang, the vice-chairman of Beijing New Energy Industry Association that new energy automobile industry sees an opportunity due to the successful bid for the Winter Olympic Game.
Fang Li, Minister of Beijing Olympic Winter Olympic Committee Environmental Protection Ministry, stated in Kuala Lumpur that it is expected PM2.5 concentration in Beijing will be at least 40% less in 2022 than 2012. According to the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, vehicle emissions are the main source of PM2.5 in Beijing , accounting for more than 30%. In the past few years, Beijing has been through the elimination of old vehicles and the promotion of new energy vehicles to reduce vehicle pollution and emissions, shich means that in order to ensure the above objectives, in the next phase, reduce the overall emission of motor vehicles will continue to be one of the important direction of Beijing to reduce PM2.5 concentration.
From the current point of view, although the new energy passenger vehicle market has begun to grow, due to the lack of infrastructure and other issues, it is impossible to the pose all pressure of the energy saving and emission reduction on the passenger cars. Therefore, bearing the goal of reducing at least 40% of the PM2.5 in Beijing, the government is expected to further promote the use of clean and new energy in the field of official vehicles.
There is no doubt that this will further benefit the manufacturers of new energy buses. From the the data in 2014 and 2015, due to the impetus of the government, although bus sales is not very satisfactory, but the performance of new energy bus manufactures including Yutong, Zhongtong, Ankai, and King Long etc, is still impressive.
Moreover, it will promote the construction of new energy facilities. On July 30, 2015, Development and Reform Commission of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei jointly signed the Joint Action Plan of New Energy charging facilities for light buses in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, to solve the running distance problem of new energy light buses, which will further promote the application of new energy buses.
