www.chinabuses.org: In an effort to further improve the driving skills of city bus drivers and enhance the overall public transport services, the second Higer Cup Bus Driving Skill Competition was held in Ningbo from Jun. 11 to 13.

This year's event is themed with "Low-carbon Green Bus Fleet, Safe and Convenient Public Transport".

According to sources, Ningbo became one of the public transport demonstration cities in 2013. In Apr. this year, the municipal government released its suggestions on promoting the development of urban public transport. Against such a backdrop, the second Higer Cup is expected to encourage more urban citizens to choose low-carbon green public transport and promote the overall development of the urban public facilities.

In this year's competiton, contestants are required to take part in a series of new events, such as emergent firefighting and manderin services, etc., which are aimed at further improving bus drivers' overall service level.
