SAIC Tangshan Bus Strikes a New Deal for 500 New Energy Buses

www.chinabuses.org: On Apr. 28, 2014, SAIC Tangshan Bus Co., Ltd. received an order for 500 units of new energy buses from Tangshan Bus Corporation. Located in Caofeidian Development Zone, SAIC Tangshan Bus Co., Ltd., jointly set up by SAIC Shanghai Sunwin Bus Co., Ltd. and Tangshan Caofeidian Development Zone, is specialized in manufacturing new energy buses.
As SAIC's first strategic cooperative project for green bus manufacturing outside of Shanghai, the new company was established with a total investment of RMB330 million in the first phase. With assembly lines for chassis, bus body manufacturing, coating, general assembly, the company chiefly builds electric buses, hybrid buses, natural gas powered buses, diesel powered buses measured 7 to 18 meters. The company officially started construction in Oct. 2011 and was completed in Aug. 2013. So far, it has rolled out 500 energy-efficient green buses. After the completion of its second phase, the company's annual production volume is expected to rise to 6,000 to 10,000 units.
