Hong Kong Government to Sponser Local Electric Bus Program

www.chinabuses.org: Hong Kong Productivity Council announced that their first government sponsered electric bus project has be conducted soon. And pure electric city buses will be developed to meet local market needs and the first bus will be rolled off the produciton line till 2015.
The program has been started since August 2013, and the total investment amount to nearly 40 million HKD sponsered by Hong Kong Innovation Technology Fund.
The single decker pure electric city bus features lightweight, long continuous voyage, intelligent and localization. T6 aluminium alloy will be used for the vehicle body, and lightweight and high efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor are used to reduce the weights of the bus can improve continuous voyage., and the bus can run for 300 km after charging for four hours, said Pan Yongsheng, VP of Hong Kong Productivity Council.
Mr. Pan said that the bus is designed and developed by Hong Kong experts in terms of appearance and powertrain. The road test for the bus will be conducted in 2015.
