05 July 2013
www.chinabuses.org: On July 1, 2013, a piece of news comes that China Ⅳ Standard will be postponed once again. In another piece of news, it says there are 18 regions announcing to implement the standard. With this question, one journalist contacts MIIT and MEP and learns that they don’t receive any notice about the implementation and postpone of the standard. Hence, when to implement the standard is still not clear.
Voice one: China Ⅳ Standard to implement as scheduled in 18 regions
At present, MIIT has issued a notice that from July 1, 2013, new declaration for China Ⅲ-compliant vehicles is stopped. Meanwhile, MEP has said to cancel China Ⅲ environmental protection announcement and to implement China Ⅳ. However, the implementation date for local areas is still not clear. According to latest news online, 18 regions have announced to implement China Ⅳ as scheduled. These regions include Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Bengbu, Quanzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhenjiang, Qingyuan, Heyuan, Hainan, Chengdu, Ya’an, Xi’an, Lanzhou, Qingyang, and Urumuchi. The latest news shows that Wuhan has postponed the implementation to December 31, 2013.
Voice two: China Ⅳ to be delayed for the fourth time, till maybe next year
China Ⅳ for heavy-duty diesel vehicles to be implemented as scheduled on July 1, 2013 is definitely to be postponed. According to latest interviews, MEP has made a consensus with MIIT and CAAM on the implementation date of China Ⅳ and CAAM has received a notice. “In the report drafted by MEP to the State Council, the contents regarding the standard are basically the same as the report to the State Council given by CAAM”.
Response: no relevant document received
Both MIIT and MEP say they don’t receive any documents regarding implementation or postpone of the standard. When to implement China Ⅳ standard is still a puzzle.
