www.chinabuses.org:As reported in June 17th, 2013, recently Education Equipment Research and Development Center belonging to Ministry of Education, Lenovo and Yutong Group Co., Ltd. signed school bus safe operation information system research and strategic cooperation framework agreement, which means that research on school bus safe operation information system standard will be put into cooperation. The experimental sites will equip school buses “black boxes” of real-time inspection and output information.

Liu Shihai, deputy director of Education Equipment Research and Development Center, said that the research of cooperation was to make both students and parents relieved about school buses. As a focus of the whole society, school bus safety needs government inspection department, equipment manufacturers, operators and schools to cooperate. It is the running on the road that is significant for school bus safety. However, current approval management of school bus, school bus driver, administrators on the bus and operators cannot resolve safety problems in the process of school bus operation.

Parents hope to be informed with real-time information of their children on the bus: where to get on and off, when to go from home to school, how long it will take and if children on the bus do not get back home on time, which part is the problem. From now on, Education Equipment Research and Development Center belonging to Ministry of Education, Lenovo and Yutong Group Co., Ltd. will take individual advantages and fulfill the school bus inspection system blank. Thus, school bus safety management can be resolved with measures of systematization and real-time inspection can realize.

Information system newly developed will record students’ real-time conditions and share it with schools and parents. Liu Shihai said, “At that time, parents can use a smart phone so that they can be informed about the process of children’s condition whether to school or home. Then, after successful development of this system, Yutong buses will be the first one to take a try. Depending on the effect, generalization to other school bus manufacturers will be decided. ”
