BYD K9 Wins Gold Award in Energy-saving Competition

www.chinabuses.org: Sponsored by CUPTA and www.bus-info.cn, "2013 China City Buses Energy-saving Competition" was undertaken by Shenzhen Bus Group and BYD on May 11th and 12th, attracting 33 bus companies and 14 bus manufacturers. BYD K9 won the gold award of pure-electric bus contest.
12m K9, as BYD's first pure-electric city bus in accordance with human-oriented design concept, adopts many of the company's independently-developed technologies, such as the advanced ET-power battery, which creates no emission and pollution. Front windshield covering 2/3 of the front face, along with big black side windows in silver body, reveals the elegance of the bus.
It's said 200 BYD K9 pure-electric city buses have been serving Shenzhen for three years with total mileage of 16 million km in good condition; BYD won 580-unit-order from the 1000 units of the government procurement in Shenzhen.
