Dongfeng School Bus EQ6666S4D Passes Window-Escape Tests

www.chinabuses.org : On March 12th, 2013, Dongfeng Bus Company, which is a member of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company, conducted window escape test for the school bus of EQ6666S4D. As it’s shown in the report, both types of window that the bus uses could function perfectly in case of emergency, helping passengers escape safely.
According to the new national standard, school buses should be equipped with escape hammers. In order to prove the reliability of hammers, Dongfeng Bus Company carried out the test. And the result shows both the hammer and the electric-control window-breaking system could help passengers escape.
The reporter saw at the test site that the hammer could be detached easily. Also, the bell rings as the hammer got pulled out, warning that the hammer is taken out of the specific space. When the tester hit the window with the sharp end of the hammer, the glass shattered, creating an escape exit for passengers.
Besides, test was also conducted for electric-control window-breaking system. The tester opened the protective lid, and pressed the explosion button, then the battery is connected with electric circuit. The window-breaking device on the window functions, causing shocking wave , within 1 second, the toughened glass scattered. No glass pieces splash, but only causing beehive-shaped cracks all over the glass.
The electric-control window-breaking system is unique only to school buses of Dongfeng, using military-level security technologies, with the electric circuit overall sealed, which is dust-proven, fire-proven, high water-resistance and anti-static. The life expectancy is as long as eight years. At the same time, in order to make sure that the window-breaking system functions well in case of emergency, a special protective device is installed to avoid any damage caused by men.
