Internal combustion industry is of vital importance to national economy and security, as well as the impetus to rapid growth of national economy. Internal combustions are widely applied to industry, agriculture, forestry, fishery, transportation and national defense.

In 2011, gross output of China's internal combustion industry reached CNY 0.37 trillion, making China the manufacturing power of internal combustions.

President Tan appealed that the whole society should concern about energy-saving and emission-reduction of internal combustion industry and he also suggest the authorities make inspiring and supporting policies. Besides, internal combustion manufacturers should cooperate to make their contributions to the energy-saving and emission-reduction.
