www.chinabuses.org: On October 17th,  2012 China International New Energy Vehicles Industry Promotion Week was held in Beijing, which Hengtong Company attended with its electric buses, as the representative of the industry. General Manager of Hengtong Electric Bus Power System Company Deng, Ping shared the experience in fast-charing electric bus field with the reporters.

Deng, Ping said: "In 2010, Chongqing Hengtong Bus Company worked with Microvast to establish Chongqing Hengtong Electric Bus Power System Company , engaged in the R&D of fast-charging pure-electric buses."

In January 2011, Chongqing Hengtong Electric Bus Power System Company developed the first 12m fast-charging pure-electric bus, which was unveiled in BUSWORLD Asia 2011 attracting experts' attention. The new model was granted three awards of "Bus of the Year", "Best Innovation Bus of the Year" and "Best Green Bus of the Year".

With 140AH battery, Hengtong pure-electric bus can run 40-50 kilometers per charging, and the battery service life can reach over six years, reducing the cost and weight.

Based on pure-electric buses, Hengtong developed the fast-charging plug-in hybrid bus, which is also well received in the market due to its low noise and zero emission, etc. Chongqing Public Transport Company plans to use 450 units in 2012 and 500 more plug-in hybrid buses in 2013. Nowadays, there are 330 hybrid city buses used in Chongqing City.
