www.chinabuses.org: On March 30th 2012, the first new energy auto show was held in Wuhan City. On March 31st, China's first Zinc-Air battery buses showed on the new energy auto show and had passed through the national test and state acceptance. These buses are co-developed by Yangtze Bus and one new energy technology company in Wuhan. Recently, the Zinc-Air battery buses will apply for recording in the catalogue of the production products. And it is expected that Wuhan citizens will sit on the new energy buses this year.
The Zinc-Air battery is researched and developed by the new energy technology company. By the new battery, the bus' top speed could reach 80 km per hour. And by using the battery, a single trip mileage could reach 300 kilometers. However, the cost of this Zinc-Air battery is only a third of the lithium-ion battery, which means operating cost also decreases one third of the lithium-ion battery.
Due to its own lighter weight of this "zinc" power buses , compared with Wuhan city lithium electricity pure electric bus' demonstration operation, the Zinc-Air battery buses can allow at least 10 people more take on it. If the Zinc-Air battery buses are to put into operation, more passengers will be able to take on.
