Foton AUV Nanhai New Energy Bus Plant to Start in June

www.chinabuses.org: It is learned from March 29 that Foton invested one billion Yuan to build new energy bus plant in Nanhai, Guangdong Province, and the plant is going to be finished in June before production formally. Foton AUV BJ6123 hybrid city buses have been ordered by Taiwan for 111 units. Although 682,900 Foton vehicles were sold out in 2010, only 1,905 new energy vehicles were sold out, up 42.91% over 2009.
According to speaksman of Foton Motors, Zhao Jingguang, it is hard to predict production and sales volumes next year since they only assembly part by actual orders. Currently there are three catagraies and eight models for new energy vehicles, including hybrid city bues, pure electric city buses, pure electric sanitation truck and taxi.
And Foton Nanhai plant will focus on producing high-end monocoque new energy buses, and its annual production capacity will amount to 15,000 units.
