Seventy-one New Energy City Buses to Run in Dalian

www.chinabuses.org: The first seventy-one LNG new energy city buses started to run in Jin Zhou District in Dalian on August 21, 2010. The LNG city buses can both save energy and reduce noise and emissions.
The buses were all developed by FAW Dalian bus company. Since the major component is methane, emission of carbon monoxide and hydronitrogen can be reduces as much as 80%, and also its operation costs can be 10% lower than diesel engine buses.
Yu Hongguan, a driver of the bus, was interviewed as saying that the bus is faster than diesel engine buses in terms of starting and gear-shifting, and its speed is faster, too.
It is learned that 110 more LNG city buses will be introduced in Dalian Jin Zhou District late this year. And at that time, Jin Zhou District will become the first district using new energy city buses in Northeast China.
