Hefei Greatly Develops New Energy Vehicles

www.chinabuses.org: In the afternoon, 24 February 2010, Wu Cunrong, the mayor of Hefei city and Wei Xiaoming, the deputy mayor came to JAC Development & Research Center for the special investigation of new energy vehicle project and held a conference with related leaders of Science and Technology Bureau, Development and Reform Commission and Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology in Hefei.

 

The delegates from JAC Coaches Co., Ltd., Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd. and relevant departments made reports of the starting conditions of new energy cars and buses projects at the conference. Hefei Public Transport gave an account of the operation of No. 18 Bus.

 

It is known from JAC Coaches Co., Ltd.that it plans to realize the demonstration operation of more than 500 new energy vehicles in Hefei in 2010. According to Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd., there are currently over 160 pure electric buses applied in the cities such as Hefei, Shanghai and Beijing and it is expected to achieve the production as well as sales of more than 2000 new energy buses. 

 

Wu Cunrong emphasized that charging stations would be listed in the general plan of Hefei city to further promote the application of new energy vehicles for public affairs and buses. In addition, the government would make effort to promote the development of the new energy vehicles manufacturers and try to take the related projects as major programs in Hefei.
