Chinese Auto Brands:Change Image, Change Value
03 December 2009
www.chinabuses.org: Currently, Chinese auto brands are trying to change its image as a cheap, low-grade producer. Made in China also means high quality and good price. They are taking established international auto brands as a benchmark, and trying to compete with them globally. Statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM for short as below) show that China's auto industry maintained strong momentum in this year, with both vehicle output and sales rising more than 10 percent. Industry analysts say both output and sales are expected to hit more than 11 million units by the year-end.
Made in China
CAAM says Chinese indigenous auto brands have entered a crucial phase where they have the opportunity to become strong businesses and global producers. Hence, many Chinese brands, such as Yutong, Higer, Kinglong, etc are revamping their strategy, and investing heavily in developing higher-grade vehicles. Chinese auto brands will improve their research and development ability.
But the international market is far from easy. Chinese automakers still face a lot of handicaps, including undersized sales network and a lack of talented people able to work in the international market.
At present, China became the world's largest market for new vehicles.
