English.chinabuses.com: in a bid to speed up the process of replacement of those heavy-polluting vehicles, Shanghai rolled out its Vehicle Scrappage Scheme on Jun. 1st this year. After the new incentives went into effect, the city has witnessed some tangible results. Thanks to the subsidies provided by the government, those bus operators once sitting tight on decisions quickly moved into action and scraped some old buses in their fleet.
