English.chinabuses.com: on Jun. 30, 2009, fifteen brand new environmentally friendly electric hybrid city buses arrived at Zhuzhou Hexi city bus center. It is revealed that the new bus fleet will start operation on Route No. 40 on Jul. 1, 2009.

Equipped with air-conditioning device, TV sets, and monitoring devices, the bus is compliant with Euro 3 Emission Standard. Moreover, it can improve fuel economy by 10% and cut emissions by 60% at the least. Suppose the bus is to serve for eight years, it can save fuels by 120,000 liters and slash SO2 emissions by 900 tons.

According to the city planner, Zhuzhou will replace its current bus fleet of over 700 units with all-electric buses or hybrid ones in the next three years.
