Early this month, it is learnt from Guangxi-based SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., a sino-foreign joint venture with a total workforce of 140,000 employees, sold 100,258 units of vehicles in May, setting a new record high for domestic automakers in monthly sales volume.

Thanks to a series of favorable policies rolled out by the government to stimulate the vehicle consumption, SAIC-GM-Wuling has maintained a robust growing momentum in the first five month of 2009. The company also posted a very impressive monthly sales volume of over 90,000 units in Mar. and Apr.

After years of fast growth, the company has now taken up to over 50% of China’s mini-bus market. ZHOU Hong, Secretary of the company’s committee of CPC revealed that SAIC-GM-Wuling has been actively taking a series of measures to boost its sales so as to transform the current global financial crisis into an opportunity to further expand its presence both at home and abroad.
