Golden Dragon Chairman Leads Busworld Delegation to Drive High-End Coach Global Strategy
09 October 2025
October 4, 2025, Brussels – The biennial Busworld Europe exhibition officially opened today at the Brussels Expo. As one of the world's oldest and largest professional bus and coach exhibitions, this year's event has attracted over 500 exhibitors globally, showcasing more than 300 vehicles across various categories. Among them, Golden Dragon Bus made a remarkable appearance with three significant models: the PIVOT E15 pure-electric bus, the GECKO pure-electric light-duty vehicle, and the all-new GC15 high-end coach, marking its global debut.
At the press conference, Mr. Peng Dongqing, Party Secretary and Chairman of Golden Dragon Bus, stated to the media that the 15th Five-Year Plan period represents a critical phase for Chinese bus manufacturers to intensively compete in the European market and the high-end vehicle segment. He emphasized that product quality will be the decisive factor in this competitive landscape.
Analyzing the industry trends, Mr. Peng noted that observations from recent Busworld exhibitions indicate the gap in manufacturing craftsmanship between domestic Chinese bus companies and leading European brands is gradually narrowing. However, European premium brands such as Setra still maintain a leading position in product quality and refinement of assembly processes, which clearly outlines the direction for Chinese manufacturers' continued efforts.
To further deepen its presence in the European market, Mr. Peng has led the Golden Dragon team in implementing systematic upgrades across multiple dimensions, including product R&D, production processes, supplier selection, and after-sales service. The newly unveiled GC15 series high-end coach is a crystallized achievement of these enhancement initiatives.
In product design and planning, Mr. Peng stressed the importance of the "Four Standardizations" principle: universalization, serialization, platformization, and standardization. Taking the GC15 series as an example, the five models spanning 8 to 15 meters in length share a unified body sill width. This innovative approach significantly improves parts commonality, enhances production efficiency, and greatly facilitates after-sales service, offering customers greater convenience and peace of mind.
The competition in the high-end coach segment ultimately hinges on production craftsmanship and attention to assembly details. Golden Dragon's Longhai base, employing new production technologies and more efficient processes, provides solid support for the company's next-phase push into the high-end market. A compelling set of data illustrates this transformation: previously, producing a 12-meter coach required 12–15 barrels of 3kg body filler, whereas with the upgraded production line and processes, the usage for the same model has been drastically reduced to just 3 barrels. This relentless pursuit of dimensional accuracy epitomizes Golden Dragon's strategic focus on high-end model development.
Mr. Peng emphasized that sustained progress in overseas markets must be rooted in superior product quality. He explained that through comprehensive process innovation and optimization, the GC15 series has undergone a transformative upgrade. This improvement is not only reflected in enhanced product performance but has also been strongly validated by feedback from international clients during recent business discussions, where overseas customers have shown considerable interest and recognition.
In closing, Mr. Peng firmly stated, "Golden Dragon Bus will seize the valuable opportunity in the current development phase of Chinese buses to expand internationally and move into the high-end market. Supported by high-value-added products, we will continuously enhance Golden Dragon's brand influence in the global market, demonstrating the capability and appeal of Chinese buses to the world."
