Brussels, 4 October 2025 – As the doors of Busworld Brussels opened today, CRRC Electric immediately seized the spotlight. The global new-energy commercial vehicle arm of the CRRC Group unveiled its latest product and system matrix—headlined by the world-premiere EU12C coach and ED12 double-deck bus—presenting what the Chinese group describes as “a world-class vision for the future of public transport.”
Flagship Debuts: Where Technology Redefines Green Mobility
Rather than presenting a static product line-up, CRRC Electric used the Brussels stage to introduce an end-to-end ecosystem encompassing vehicles, software, and infrastructure.
EU12C – Battery-Electric Premium Coach
800V high-voltage architecture, 480 kW peak power, 5,100 Nm torque; capable of climbing gradients over 30%, tailored for Europe’s hilly terrain
CATL 440.49 kWh battery, ultra-low-drag body; range exceeds 550 km
350 kW DC charging: 0–50% SOC in 60 minutes
ED12 – Battery-Electric Double-Deck City Bus
Capacity for 126 passengers; 560 km range under E‑SORT2 cycle
CRRC rail-derived 480 kW dual-winding motor; 93% of operating points in peak-efficiency zone; 23% gradability
High-speed train-grade 6000-series aluminium body, 20-year service life, 90% recyclability, and 20–30% weight saving versus steel
10-layer battery safety shield including thermal propagation barrier, integrated fire-suppression tubing, and smart venting
The two flagship models were accompanied by the EU07 and EU15 city buses, a multi-functional mobile retail vehicle, and a full range of e‑axles, power electronics, and battery packs—together forming what CRRC calls “the cleanest, smartest urban mobility portfolio we have ever showcased outside China.”
System Solutions: China’s Innovation for Global Transport Transformation
Vehicles represent only part of the offering. CRRC Electric also launched two integrated platforms that unify data, energy, and maintenance into a seamless operational loop.
1. Digital & Low-Carbon Urban Transport System
A four-layer “platform + scenario + vehicle + new infrastructure” architecture:
Smart Brain (TOCC) – integrates big data, AI, and IoT for city-wide situational awareness and real-time decision-making
MaaS Layer – AI dispatching, demand-responsive hailing, and predictive maintenance. The “Cloud-Shuttle” pilot in Zhuzhou (using five H05 minibuses) achieves 10× the revenue of a fixed-route bus
Smart Logistics – “passenger + freight” integration cuts last-mile costs by 50% and raises efficiency by 40%
Green Infrastructure – phased roadside upgrades to SL3 perception level, enabling V2X communication, autonomous traffic signals, and connected services
2. Life-Cycle Maintenance Cloud
Linked to CRRC’s “Yun-Zhi-Tong” telematics platform, the system provides:
Cell-level battery health prediction
Vehicle-state scoring and early-warning analytics
Online/offline repair scheduling and optimized parts logistics
The goal is to eliminate unplanned downtime for operators who manage large electric fleets but lack in-house battery expertise.
Rail DNA Meets Road Reality
By adapting core technologies from high-speed rail—including SiC traction inverters, permanent-magnet motors, lightweight aluminium body engineering, and system-level safety protocols—CRRC Electric claims it can deliver “railway-grade reliability at bus-sector costs.”
With today’s debut, the company has signaled that its next phase of growth will be driven not only by vehicles, but by data-enabled, city-scale ecosystems designed to make public transport cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective over a full 20-year life cycle.
