Consul General of Australia in Shanghai Visits Bonluck Bus Company
14 September 2024
On September 12, Consul General of Australia in Shanghai John Williams , along with his team, visited Bonluck Bus Company. Chairman Zhao Baohong and General Manager Zhang Fucheng of Bonluck accompanied the visitors, and relevant officials from the Foreign Affairs Offices of Jiangxi Province and Nanchang City, as well as the Investment Promotion Bureau of Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, participated in the reception.
During the talks, Consul General Williams and his team listened to Bonluck's development situation and future plans in Australia, briefly introduced the Australian bus market, and expressed their delight in seeing Bonluck buses continue to increase their market share in Australia in the future.
After the talks, Chairman Zhao Baohong and General Manager Zhang Fucheng accompanied Consul General Williams and his team to visit the production workshop, where they briefly introduced the vehicles in production, especially those that were about to be exported to Australia.
Consul General Williams expressed strong interest in the vehicles displayed in the workshop for the Australian market and took a test ride in one of the vehicles. They took a short test ride in a vehicle destined for Australia within the factory and praised the vehicle's performance, comfort, and appearance.
Australia is one of the earliest overseas high-end markets Bonluck buses have entered. In 2006, the first Chinese-made diesel bus was exported to Australia; in 2008, the first Chinese-made hybrid and electric buses were exported to Australia; and in 2020, the first Chinese-made hydrogen-fueled bus was exported to Australia. All three "firsts" were created by Bonluck buses, making "BLK" one of the most famous China bus brands in the region. Based on Bonluck's good performance in the Australian market, following the visit of Australian Ambassador to China Huang Xiang'an, two consecutive Consul Generals in Shanghai, Dominic Trindade and John Williams, have visited Bonluck buses.
The visit of Consul General Williams has injected confidence into Bonluck's subsequent development in the Australian market. Currently, in response to an invitation from the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) of Australia, the company is participating in the Brisbane International Bus Expo on September 17-18, 2024, jointly with its Australian partner BLKA. For this exhibition, the company is showcasing its latest four models, covering new energy pure electric buses, traditional energy buses, tourist buses, and other 100% Australian-labeled special buses.
