Over 100 Golden Dragon New Energy Buses Are Prepared to Depart for Jamaica
26 July 2024
Over 100 Golden Dragon new energy buses are ready to depart for Kingston, Jamaica, lined up at the Shanghai Haitong International Automobile New Terminal. The rows of bright yellow buses glow with confidence and brilliance under the sun.
This is not Golden Dragon 's first shipment of buses to the Americas this year. In recent years, facing the sluggish domestic and international economies, the diversification of travel options, and the shrinking demand for buses due to the combined effects of the three-year pandemic, Golden Dragon has leveraged China's strength in new energy buses and seized the opportunity presented by the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Golden Dragon's development has been marked by innovation, adaptability, and a strong focus on international expansion within the context of the BRI and the mutually reinforcing domestic and international dual-circulation development paradigm. According to recent overseas sales data, Golden Dragon achieved an export revenue of over RMB 2.1 billion in 2022, marking a continuous double-digit growth. In 2023, Golden Dragon's export sales continued to show a robust growth trend, with a year-on-year increase of 31%, capturing a 16% market share and ranking among the industry leaders with a notable growth momentum. As we enter 2024, Golden Dragon's overseas performance remains impressive, with consecutive orders of hundreds of buses secured in markets such as Vietnam and Saudi Arabia.
Behind this surge in exports lies Golden Dragon increasingly mature overseas business model, particularly the promotion of the Knocked Down (KD) assembly model. "We must adopt the KD model to accelerate our transition from mere entry into the market to establishing a deep presence by building factories locally," said An Min, General Manager of Golden Dragon International Trading Co. "Over the years, the KD model has matured significantly, with a well-established system within our factories, including product selection, route mapping, team formation, and other processes that are both efficient and comprehensive. To further support this, Golden Dragon has dedicated a KD department, which has been elevated from an overseas sales company to a company-wide strategic focus, ensuring comprehensive coordination and support from production lines."
"Looking back, we can confidently say that the KD path we've chosen is the right one," added An Min. "By exporting technology and products, we have deepened our engagement in local markets, addressing trade barriers and enhancing our overall service capabilities. Currently, Golden Dragon boasts the largest number of KD factories in the bus industry overseas, covering key regions such as Southeast Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Africa."
