01 March 2024
News from Chinabuses.org:Moscow is a leader in the development and use of electric buses. Today, there are more than 1,470 of them running in the capital, and providing the operation of routes in 10 districts. At the same time, their number continues to increase constantly: within six years under the new transport program, the city will receive another 3,800 innovative vehicles and only by the end of this year - up to 800 units. Electric buses will take to the routes instead of conventional buses to minimize the negative impact on the environment.
"To serve electric buses, we are modernizing the existing bus fleets and expanding the charging infrastructure. Since the beginning of this year alone, almost 14 million trips have been made on all Moscow electric buses. We will continue to develop environmentally friendly urban transportation to make passenger travel even more comfortable, as instructed by the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin" — said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
Electric buses have smooth and quiet running, and trips become even more comfortable with them. Since 2022, electric buses of improved configuration have been delivered to Moscow. The main advantages of the new model over its predecessors are an increased range of up to 80 km without charging and an electric cabin heater, which minimizes the impact on the environment.
All electric buses produced by Russian manufacturers KAMAZ and GAZ Group are serviced under life-cycle contracts. This means that the manufacturer is fully responsible for the technical serviceability of each electric bus during 15 years of operation. This guarantees the safety of transportation and passengers.
"Thanks to the new supplies, more modern and environmentally friendly transport will come to the routes of the capital. Since 2018, electric buses have replaced buses and reached almost 120 routes of the capital. By 2030, their number in the city will have reached 5,300. Moscow will maintain its leadership in Europe in terms of the number of electric buses. We continue to develop urban electric transport on behalf of the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin" — said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
