Zhongtong Electric City Buses Enable Portugal to Move Closer Towards Zero-Emission Transport

On February 27, Zhongtong officially delivered 48 units N12 electric city buses to its customer in Porto, the second largest city in Portugal, providing zero-emission public transportation services for passengers.
After being put into operation, Zhongtong N12 electric city buses are expected to play a key role in the city’s public transport network, connecting Porto old town, Porto Railway Station, Porto University and Rio Douro.
In 2020, Portugal released 2030 National Energy & Climate Plan, facilitating its energy transition and promoting its green economy. As one of the critical areas in fighting against carbon emissions, the public transport in Porto introduced the first batch of Zhongtong N12 electric buses in 2021. With consistently smooth operation and impressive performances in the past two years, these environmentally friendly buses have long won wide acclaims from local residents and bus operators.
