Higer Overseas Sales Revenue Grew by 70.59% to Reach a New Record High

Recently, Higer revealed that its bus export volume reached 5,248 units and its overseas sales revenue exceeded 4.2 billion RMB in 2023, up by 70.59% year on year. In Israel, Russia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Algeria, the bus maker saw its sales increase markedly. In South Korea and Israel in particular, Higer ranked the first place in both sales volume and revenue among all bus brands.
With substantial growth in its sales of coaches and its record high overseas sales in 2023, Higer ranked the second place in China’s large- and medium-sized bus market. In the meantime, its new energy truck and special vehicles started mass production and its autonomous driving bus and unmanned vehicles gained a fast rising popularity in the market. In 2023, Higer reached a new height with its brand value exceeding 78.7 billion RMB.
Despite a host of challenges in the past year, Higer demonstrated unbelievable resilience and further strengthened its overall competitiveness in the global market.
Thanks to the lift of all COVID-19 related restrictions in late 2022, Higer rolled out business coaches with 1+1 and 2+1 seating plans in earlier 2023; Higer Ruixing business coach with seven seats was in big demand in the high-end tourist transportation market in northwest China; the sixth generation Higer Weilan series city bus raised the bar much higher for new energy city buses. For the whole year, Higer’s sales of coaches jumped by 57% year on year and its sales revenue went up by 39% year on year in the domestic market.
The huge success of Higer lies in its relentless efforts in technological innovation. In the field of hydrogen fuel cell buses, internet-connected buses, new energy trucks and special vehicles, the bus maker made several major breakthroughs.
In 2023, Higer High-Performance Hydrogen Fuel Cell Commercial Vehicle Key Technologies and Their Commercial Operation won the third prize by China-SAE. In the same year, it delivered hydrogen fuel cell buses to customers in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui.
Also in 2023, Higer autonomous driving buses and unmanned vehicles started services in Shanghai: 10 units 8.5-meter internet-connected buses in Lingang and 10 units 6-meter autonomous driving vehicles in an industrial park.
Boasting rich experience in developing new energy buses, Higer new energy trucks made huge strides in their performance, safety standards, continuous driving distances and overall intelligence level. It also revealed its new energy sanitation vehicles, which are now in smooth operation in Suzhou. In the areas of flat linear motors, motors with high rotation speed, SiC controller, eAxle, the bus maker made several major breakthroughs. Its new energy vehicle vehicle operation online alarming platform, the first of its kind in the industry, also started service, greatly improving the efficiency of new energy vehicles.
By the end of 2023, Higer had been granted with 397 patents, including 87 patents for invention, 272 utility model patents and 38 patents for exterior design. It was also involved in the making of 39 national and industrial standards.
In October, 2023, Higer Fencer F1 electric city bus equipped with independently developed G4 module chassis made its debut in BusWorld Brussels. Higer Azure 9 and Azure 7, particularly designed for the European market, also made their debut.
At the 29th Intelligent Transport World Congress held in Suzhou, Higer L4-level autonomous driving mini-buses, intelligent buses, unmanned cleaning vehicles, unmanned selling vehicles all provided services, arousing keen interest among the participants.
In 2023, Higer buses & coaches served a number of high-profile events, including University Games held in Chengdu, United National Climate Change Conference, Asian Games held in Hangzhou, and Pan-Arab Games, recording zero glitches. By constantly upgrading its service networks, it has so far built 800 service stations in the domestic market and over 100 in the overseas market.
