Recently, the engine maker successfully won Hubei Provincial A-level certificate, which fully recognizes its remarkable contributions to the environmental protection.

In July, 2020, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment officially released Guidelines for Emergency Emission Reductions in Heavily Polluted Weather Conditions. In response, Dongfeng Cummins immediately took a series of measures to upgrade its production facilities and improve the natural environment at its production base, including removal of trucks failing to comply with China’s National V Emissions Standards and above, strengthening its supervision of its logistic vehicles, switching to water-based paint and cutting NMHC concentration to 20-30mg/m³.

According to the guidelines, the emergency response to the heavily polluted weather conditions is divided into A, B, C and D. Based on thorough investigations of its raw & auxiliary materials, VOCs treatment facilities, emission caps, monitoring level, environmental management, mode of transportation, supervision of transportation and fugitive emissions, Hubei Provincial Environmental Protection Department awarded Dongfeng Cummins A-level Certificate for its high standards to cut emissions and deal with heavily polluted weather conditions.
