Lishen Battery Invests 4 Billion Yuan for Base in Suzhou

www.chinaspv.com: On Dec. 13th of 2013, Suzhou Hi-tech Zone signed an investment agreement with Tianjin Lishen Battery Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. In this agreement, Tianjin Lishen Battery would invest 4 billion Yuan for building Eastern China Base in Suzhou Hi-tech Zone, which covers major development, manufacturing and sales of Li-ion battery (including automotive power battery), new-energy material and super capacitor. Zhou Naixiang, deputy secretary of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and mayor, and Pu Ronggao, standing committee member of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and secretary of Hi-tech Zone Party Working Committee, were all present at the signing ceremony.

Tianjin Lishen Battery Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. is a hi-tech company with independent intellectual property rights and core technology, stated own shares of which are over 90%. Specialized in the technological development, manufacture and sales of Li-ion battery, Lishen Battery is a company with the largest investment, the most advanced technology in China, the most Li-ion battery kinds and the most advanced automatic equipments. In 2013, Lishen is the first one to get entitled as National Li-ion Power Battery Engineering Technology Research Center. At present, Lishen is ranked No.1 in China and the Fourth in the globe. Marketing of Lishen covers Europe, North America and Asia. Lishen Eastern China Base is located in Hi-tech Zone with total investment of 4 billion Yuan. The first period investment would be 1.5 billion Yuan with registered capital of 500 million Yuan. When this project completed, annual value of production would be 20 billion Yuan. This project plans to cover 500 Mu, 100,000 square meters of which would be built for annual production capacity of 500 million Ah in the first period. By now, this project has already got approval of headquarter of CNOOC and gone into real start-up. Qin Xingcai, president of Lishen Battery, said, “There are over 4,000 buses in Suzhou, with an exception of coach. If we take several years to transfer present buses to electric buses and decrease carbon emission, our people would be the one with the most benefits.”


As one of the first batch national hi-tech industrial development zone, Lishen Zone owns not only good technical innovative entrepreneurial atmosphere and powerful industrial foundation but also unique ecological human resource. The whole zone is guided by establishing ecological technological city of Suzhou and builds brands of technology and ecology by developing new electronic information, new energy, rail transit and medical machinery.
