10,000th R Series Engine Roll off Line in SDEC

www.chinabuses.org : News from Shanghai Diesel Engine Company( SDEC), 18 months after put into mass production, the 2.5 liter light diesel engine for R series of SAIC Maxus commercial vehicle has reached a total production of 10,000 units. This is the first new product of SDEC reached 10.000 units in production, signaling a new era for the company. On March 7th, 2013, SDEC held a simple but festive off-line ceremony in the 101 workshop, present was Mr. Qian Jun, deputy general manager of SDEC.
During the R&D period of the R series of light diesel engine, GPDP processing method was strictly followed, finishing a large amount of works including the R&D, verifying, localization of spare parts, ensuring the quality, realizing SOP in 16 months; after the mass production started, SDEC hold tight the philosophy of manufacturing commercial vehicles with the standards of manufacturing passenger vehicles, using high standards, promoting the cooperation between the manufacturing department, technology department, operational department, solving difficult problems, strictly control the quality. 92 tests will be done before any engine goes off production line, making sure all of the parts are 100% qualified. Relying on the low noise, low oil-consumption and powerfulness, the R series diesel engine has won reputation in the market.
