ZF Supplies 4,500 Transmissions for DHL Vehicles
06 March 2009
ZF receives major order from IvecoDelivery of automatic ZF-eTronic transmissions. For use in Iveco Daily Agile van.
DHL has granted the 4,500 van order to Iveco. In accordance with the DHL specification, all vehicles are supplied with the 6-speed ZF-eTronic transmission. The automatic transmission is particularly fuel efficient and is therefore optimally suited for profitable application in delivery trucks.
Comfort and cost-effectiveness for everyday logistics
For light vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to seven tons, the automatic eTronic transmission is ideally suited for transporter and van applications. The optimal power-to-weight ration of the transmission in combination with its maximum efficiency support fast and effective traveling. In everyday logistics, the transmission stands for uplifted cost-effectiveness since it always keeps the engine running in the most economical speed range. When used in delivery traffic, the automatic shifting plays off its strengths to the fullest – no shifting or clutch actuation in city traffic means more comfort and safety since the driver can fully focus on traffic.
Straightforward maintenance and installation
Uncomplicated vehicle installation - just as problem-free as economical driving with the eTronic transmission: All components including the cable connections have been combined to form one single unit. Consequently, maintenance has become much easier; servicing is warranted by ZF with more than 700 service centers worldwide. The electromechanically operating clutch and shift module are supplied with power from the vehicle electrics.
