Higer Super-capacitor Buses Arrived in Serbia for Operation

www.chinabuses.org: On September 1, a grand ceremony was held at the square in front of the city council in Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, to celebrate the official operation of five units Higer super capacitor buses. Li Manchang, Chinese ambassador to Serbia, and Sinisa Mali, mayor of Belgrade attended the ceremony and took the bus in person. After experiencing the travel comforts provided by the vehicle, Mr. Sinisa Mali revealed to the media that the city is now considering to replace all its out-dated buses, in the hope to create a better environment for its citizens.

According to the local bus operator, all the five buses will be put into operation on the bus route 1E in Belgrade, making the route the first super-capacitor city bus route in Europe. Test results show that Higer super-capacitor bus consumes less than one kilowatt-hour electricity for every one kilometer, which means a significant cut of 13 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere each year.

After being recharged through a pantograph, Higer super-capacitor bus is able to drive 20 kilometers. With high environmental friendliness, the vehicle will help its operators cut operating costs significantly. In addition, the super-capacitor buses are equipped with the latest electric control systems wholly developed by Higer. With highly durable and reliable super-capacitors, the vehicles are also ideal for frequent stops and start-ups in urban areas.
