www.chinabuses.org: Since early this year, rumors have been spreading among China’s bus industry that the state government would roll out new policies towards new energy buses. This has severely dampened some bus makers’ enthusiasm in researching and developing new energy buses.
Despite the faltering market conditions, Zhongtong continued to make relentless efforts to adjust its product line, optimize its vehicles, cut its production costs and improve its customer values. Its hard work has been paying off. As of the end of April this year, the bus maker sold 4,000 units new energy buses, making up over 20% of the market share and ranking the top position in the industry.
On May 23, to mark the delivery of Zhongtong’s 20,000th new energy bus to its customer, a grand ceremony was held at Beijing International Exhibition Center. Officials from a number of bus operators in China attended the ceremony. Sun Qingmin, General Manager of Zhongtong delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony. He reviewed the history of the company’s new energy bus development. In 2004, the bus maker initiated the research of electric buses in China. A few years later, it boasted a wide spectrum of new energy buses measuring from 6 meters to 18 meters in length. In October, 2015, it managed to sell the company’s 10,000th new energy bus. It took six years for the bus maker to accomplish. The delivery of the company’s 20,000th unit new energy bus is a new milestone in its history. From the 10,000th to the 20,000th, it only took the company eight months, showing it has competitiveness in the new energy bus market.
At the ceremony, Zhongtong delivered its 20,000th unit new energy bus to its customer, Suqian No. 2 Public Transport Co., Ltd. Zhang Xiangjun, Deputy General Manager from the bus operator received the key. Mr. Zhang expressed his admiration of Zhongtong’s relentless efforts in rolling out customer-friendly transportation solutions and on behalf of all customers, he expressed his best wishes for Zhongtong.
