www.chinabuses.org: On July 16, a number of persons-in-charge from the public transport system in Beijing attended a grand ceremony to mark the official operation of 200 units Weiwang 307 electric mini buses, which are produced by BAIC. On the same day, the recharging stations jointly built by BAIC New Energy, Qingdao Telaidian and Jidong Materials Trade Company were also put into use. These stations, equipped with fast recharging facilities, will ensure the smooth operation of Weiwang 307 electric mini buses in Yizhuang.
According to sources, the 200 units electric mini buses will be put into use on six bus routes in 27 urban communities. To ensure their smooth operation, Yizhuang Development Zone has built three recharging stations and 78 recharging terminals to meet the electric buses’ slow and fast recharging needs.
With a wheelbase of over 2.9 meters, Weiwang 307EV electric mini-bus is mounted with four lines of seats and is capable of loading 9 passengers. The bus is equipped with lithium batteries which boast an electric capacity of 37.8 kilowatt hours. The bus is able to drive continuously for 150 kilometers after one recharge. Under the slow recharging mode, it takes eight hours for the bus to be fully recharged while under the fast recharging mode, it only needs 30 minutes.
