www.chinabuses.org: On Sept. 1, the with emission-free fast-recharging electric buses developed by Chongqing Hengtong Electric Bus Co., Ltd. were put into official operation after a successful trial operation, which includes climbing over a mountain with an altitude of 3,600 meters.

During the trial operation, the bus was in continuous operation for 12 hours, traveling 463 km. Mounted with IDS and ELFA, the vehicle is capable of climbing a slope with a gradient of 24 degrees. In addition, the bus can cut fuel consumption by 50% when compared with a normal bus with the same specifications. With multi-lithium composite batteries, the electric bus can be fully recharged in fifteen minutes and can drive for over 100 km. Compared with other bus equipped with traditional battery pack, Hengtong bus is 40% lighter in weight.
