Fujian Promotes New Energy Vehicle Industry

14 July 2014

www.chinabuses.org: Fujian has been speeding up the promotion of the new energy buses. The eye-catching newly developed Longma Qiteng M70 electric vehicle is currently waiting to be approved by the relevant government department. It is expected to make its debut between September and October this year.

Ling Yuzhang, the president from Fujian Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said compared with the traditional vehicle manufacturers the new energy vehicle manufacturers in Fujian get more opportunities, which they shall seize to achieve the second miracle in the automobile industry.

Since 2013 there is strong impetus in terms of both policy and practice. Policies such as Suggestions of State Council on Speeding Up the Development of Energy Saving and Environment Protection industry, Notice on Continuously Promoting the Application of New Energy Vehicles have been issued successively to stimulate the research and application of the new energy vehicle and designate the city promotion of the new energy vehicle as the main channel from 2013 to 2015. In addition Fujian Communications Department has also issued the relevant policies to subsidize the newly purchased new energy buses.

At present automobile industry relies greatly on investment but the investment on the technology research of the new energy vehicle industry varies significantly inside and outside China. The new energy vehicle industry in Fujian should maintain both independence and opening at the same time for the further development. Presently Fujian province and Germany are working on a new strategic cooperation in technology and marketing. Mr. Ling will lead a business team to visit Benz as well as Volkswagen and take part in the biennial IAA Commercial Vehicles Exhibition in Hannover in September 2014.
