BYD K9 Electric Bus
In 2013, the smog plagued many cities across China, which was mainly attributed to the emissions of urban vehicles. In the meantime, the outdated city buses with heavy pollution in a number of cities have become a hot topic gaining wide public attention. Against such a background, the promotion and application of eco-friendly new energy vehicles are the inevitable trend. On Feb. 26 this year, BYD and Dalian Municipal Government signed an Agreement on Dalian-BYD New Energy Vehicle Manufacturing Industry Cooperative Framework.
According to the agreement, over half of Dalian city's new purchases of taxis will be powered by new energy, which means that BYD has officially opened its new energy vehicle market in northeast China. The production base, as BYD's only one in the region, will not only play a significant role in promoting the application of new energy vehicles in the area, but also make full use of the favorable geographic location of the city to further expand BYD's overseas markets.
