Sunlong Bus Starts Selling Buses in Brazil
06 March 2014
www.chinabuses.org: Chinese bus manufacturer Sunlong Bus is due to start being sold in Brazil before the end of the first half of the year, said the brand’s Brazilian partner, Mauri Moreira de Oliveira, cited by the Brazilian press.
Sunlong Bus, which is based in Shanghai plans to invest US$15 million to build a distribution centre on an 80,000 square metre plot in Juiz de Fora, in the state of Minas Gerais.
Oliveira said that the arrival of the Chinese company’s products in Brazil followed three years of negotiations and that the company would sell completely equipped buses, which were undergoing certification for use in Brazil.
Similarly to cars and trucks imported from China the buses will be attractive due to their competitive price and the level of equipment they include as standard.
“All units have air suspension and air conditioning as standard,” said as well as ABS, which is a requirement for new vehicles in Brazil since the beginning of the year.
In the midterm the idea is to manufacture the buses in Brazil and Oliveira said that that decision would only be made after two years selling vehicles in Brazil.
