Iveco Bus Wins Contract for 350 CNG Buses from Kazakhstan
03 March 2014
www.chinabuses.org: The authorities of Kazakhstan have formalized the choice of Iveco Bus to modernize their public transportation fleet for the World Expo to be held in 2017 under the theme ‘Energy of the Future.’ A fleet of new Citelis buses, fitted with CNG engines, will be delivered to the Municipality of Astana for an amount of €107 million.
This initiative, which represents more than 350 direct jobs over one year to the Iveco Bus plant in Annonay, was made possible through the financial support from Bercy and from COFACE (Compagnie Française d'Assurance pour le Commerce Extérieur) on behalf of the State.
The batch of 350 Citelis CNG buses include 280 12-meter standard units and 70 18-meter articulated units, and will be delivered to Kazakhstan’s capital between June and December 2014. Besides, there is an option to supply 100 Crealis vehicles, also powered by natural gas. All buses will be branded under an "Original France Guarantee" and are part of the first segment of Astana’s plans of fleet renewal.
