14 February 2014
www.chinabuses.org: After two years of slight increase, domestic vehicle market returns to its rapid increase. However, minivan market began its decline instead of increase. According to relative data, accumulative sales volume of domestic minivan market is 1.5873 million units in 2013, decreasing 9.6% than 1.7564 million units of 2012.
In 2013, decline of minivan market is mostly because Wuling Hongguang and Changan Honor are included as narrowed passenger car. Otherwise, sales volume of minivan market in 2013 would increase 2.9%.
Most enterprises decrease in sales. Wuling takes up over 50% of market shares.
Such condition is also a result of bad market performance of minivan manufacturers and vehicle model market. In 2013, top ten enterprises of minivan market sales are respectively SGMW, Changan, Dongfeng, BAIC, Jilin Automobile, Lifan Motors, Chery Automobile, Haima Automobile, Jiao Auto and Hafei Automobile.
Among these ten enterprises, very a few of them achieved increasing sales, including BAIC, Lifan Motor, Jiao Auto and Chery Automobile. The first three increase over 100% respectively owing to increasing sales of new vehicle models. Of the three, BAIC performed the best by its sales volume of 100,000 units. Chery increases 20% in sales in 2013.
The rest six minivan enterprises all decrease in sales, of which Haima and Hafei decrease 48.0% and 63.6%. Despite of the lack of Wuling Hongguang, SGMW took the lead in minivan market. In 2013, SGMW decreases 7.5% to 828,800 units and its market share is 25.2%. The next two are Changan and Dongfeng with respective sales of minivan of 306,800 and 173,400 units, decreasing 28.6% and 10.7%.
