BYD to Sell 2000 Pure Electric City Buses in 2013

www.chinabuses.org: BYD Auto became a black horse among self-owned auto brand since entering auto manufacturing and sales in 2003, and their sales have been doubled for five years in row. And BYD pure electric city buses have been popular in recent years and they even entered European and American high-end markets.
BYD invests billions of capital to development and research of new energy technology since 2005, and their products include power battery, drive motor, electronic control system. And they owns hundreds of patents related to electric cars. And BYD is the only auto maker which owns power battery, drive motor, electronic control system technology.
BYD developed F3DM dual-mode electric vehicle in 2010. And their pure electric bus e6 emerged in Nov. 2011 with the longtest driving mileage in the world, 300 km.
The latest BYD K9 electric bus have been sold to Shenzhen, Changsha, Xi'an, Tianjin. And the accumulated operation range are 18 million km in Shenzhen till now.
This year, BYD K9 electric bus have been sold to the US and European countries. Ameircan Long Beach Bus Company purchased 10 BYD K9 bus in April this year and the sales revenues were 14 million USD. And BYD declares to build their bus plant and battery plant in Lancaster in May.
The largest public transport company, LA MTA (metro) passed a contract for 25 BYD K9 in May as part of 30 million USD clean air project.
In July, BYD secured 35 airport buses and ten-year service contract from Netherlands Schiphol Airport by beating European counterparts.
In April, 6 BYD K9 electric bus started to run in Netherlands Schiermonnikoog national park, and BYD electric buses started to run in Uruguay, and in July, BYD buses entered Poland and Canada.
BYD K9 bus got EU complete vehicle approval, and it means that they can be sold freely in EU. The hot sales of BYD K9 can be attributed their quality, performance and design. K9 adopts world advanced iron battery technology, featuring large capacity, fast charging speed, long circulation and great craftsmanship, and the bus can run for 250 km.
BYD's sales target are 8000 units in the world, including 2000 K9 and 6000 e6 buses.
