It is reported that BRT route from Fengxian south bridge bus station to Shanghai Oriental Sports Center is about 32km, of which 10 stations set up in Fengxian, 3 stations set up in Minxing and Pudong, and 1 station in Pudong. Over 20 low-chassis buses are put into operation as what is planned of the route, with average departure interval between 10 to 20 minutes. Compared with regular buses, buses of BRT route possess features of speediness, comfort and high capacity. Transit distances from Fengxian south bridge bus station to Shanghai Oriental Sports Center will be expectedly cut down to 45 to 50 minutes from the original 1 hour and 20 minutes

The conference also disclosed that contemporary tramcars would be the backbone within new town of south bridge, in which Route 1 would be the experiment of Shanghai first tramcars. Besides, great endeavor will be made to submit them for approval and build them together with the model route of Songjiang tramcars.
