30 Hybrid City Buses to Run in Pingtan County, Fujian Province

www.chinabuses.org: In March 2013, the first batch of 30 gas-electric power hybrid city buses was successfully delivered to the experimental area of Pingtan County, Fujian Province. Learning from Public Transportation Department, the unit price of the city buses are RMB 900,000, which will be put into use in the No. 1 and No.7 bus lines.
According to the lowest standard of 3 city buses to serve 10,000 people, it is estimated that in 2013, Pintan County will plan to purchase 55 units of new city buses.
The batch LNG hybrid city buses are powered by electricity while its driving speed is lower 22kms per hour. When the speed is higher than 22kms per hour, it is automatic powered by the natural gas. Comparing to the diesel vehicles, its carbon monoxide’ emission reduces by 97 percent and Carbon Dioxide reducing by 24 percent.
The length of the LNG hybrid city buses are 10.5 meters with the 83 people load capacity.
