Beijing Plans to Add 3,100 LNG Buses in 2013

www.chinabuses.org: It is learned from Beijing Public Transportation Group on Jan. 9th 2013, in the new year of 2013, Beijing Public Transportation Group plans on purchasing over 3,100 new buses to upgrade its fleet and all of them are LNG buses with air condition.
In 2012, Beijing Public Transportation Group renews 839 units of environmental protection buses with air condition. Adding the 3,100 LNG buses by 2013, Beijing Public Transportation Group will own 5,600 LNG buses in its fleet, which will be the first fleet with the most LNG buses in the world.

According to a bus exhaust the pollutant emission amount to 50 cars’ emission, if 15,000 units of traditional buses renew to LNG buses, it will equal to upgrade 750,000 cars. It is a important step to improve the Beijing’s atmospheric environment and reduce the PM 2.5 emission.
It is estimated that by 2015, in Beijing, it needs about 500 million cubic meters natural gas. Among them, 200 million cubic meters natural gas are used in buses. And 280 million cubic meters natural gas are used in the taxies, household and officer’s car demands.
