Changan Launches Plug-in Hybrid Bus

www.chinabuses.org: It's said Changan Bus Company would launch a new new-energy bus in late 2012. Rather other oil-electric hybrid or gas-electric hybrid, the new model is plug-in hybrid bus.
"Instead of following others, we launched the new model through joint exploitation." Deputy General Manager of Changan Zhao, Jingchuan told the reporter.
Currently, Changan Bus Company is cooperating with Beijing Institute of Technology to launch a plug-in hybrid city bus that reduces 20% of fuel. Both parties developed jointly a pure-electric bus in 1996.
To ensure the new-energy bus strategy, Changan Bus Company strengthened the cooperation with Yuchai and Beijing Institute of Technology, etc. and tried to master the core technologies.
Besides, the company also asked for help from local governments. Changan Bus Company is communicating with Hebei departments concerned for more preferential policies.
